The classroom was dark, the chalkboards cleaned and the desks vacant. But not everything was as it should be. The desks and chairs had been pushed towards the side, forming a sloppy V shaped pattern. At the tip of the desks was a man, clad mostly in olive green. His face pinched in pain, one arm shakily reaching up to grab a chair. The white gloved hand settled and managed to support the rest of his weight. After a minute of pushing up on the chair, his booted feet rested firmly on the ground, back straightening once more. Red eyes slid upwards, something was missing. The dark brim of his hat could not be seen hanging over his silver bangs. Looking back at the crash zone his eyes darted through the mess of chairs and desks.
Further back, about a foot from where his head and connected to the tiled floor, lay the matching olive cap. After pushing a desk out of the way with ease, the large man bent slightly to scoop it up. Brushing some dirt off it, he tilted his head slightly. Staring at the hat it sank in, he couldn’t quite remember where he had been moments before. A weak cough escaped his mouth as the dust trickled in. After a brief shake of his head he returned the hat to its place over his mess of hair. Judging by the surroundings, it was easy to work out where he was, but that didn’t answer how he got here in the first place. One did not simply appear in a school room. And one certainly didn’t plough through rows of desks by accident.
Turning slowly, each step echoing as he did so, the empty room was like a ghost town. He expected to see a hole in the wall, that would have made sense, but what wasn’t there made a puff of air escape his lips and red eyes widen. The wall was perfectly intact. Yet where he landed, he should have been shot through the wall. Not even the glass was shattered. It didn’t make any sense. Putting a hand up to his head he let his eyes close slightly, fingers massaging his temple. Lowering his hand once more to his side his mind had been made up. Get out. That was about as far as it went. It was better than nothing.
Opening the door the hallway matched the room he had left. Lights out, floors nice and clean. Every step clicking heavily as he made his way to the end of the hallway. It hadn’t taken too long, his legs were fairly long and he gained speed after several steps. Gripping the handle he braced himself for what was outside. When it creaked upon his pupils shrank and eyes squinted. The blaring sun was the exact opposite of what his eyes had just become accustomed too. One free hand shot up to block the rays from his eyes. Exiting the building his eyes slowly readjusted, but what they saw was not familiar in the least. Lowering his hand again, a frown passed his lips which remained hidden behind the upturned collar.
This was not good, he was lost. And for the first time in a while, deeply confused.

Midna walked out to her balcony, letting her whole body be bathed in twilight. She closed her eyes as she stepped forward. As soon as the twilight was no longer obscured by part of her palace, she opened her eyes. The blue Twili markings on her skin glowed with a peculiar radiance that she found they had only when in the direct light of the Twilight Realm. When she adjusted her eyes to those who were on her balcony, she stifled a small sigh. As many times as she had requested they not bow when she appeared, they did anyway. Approaching her was one of her advisors. Her father had the same Twili as one of his advisors, so she had faith in her father's choice. "O Twilight Princess..." he said, giving a respectful bow from the mid-torso up, "Is there anything I may do for you?". Shaking her head slowly, she responded "Not right now...I have simply come out to enjoy the Twilight..." The advisor gave her a respectful nod before he walked off, and she walked towards the far end of her balcony.
As soon as she placed her hands on the rail, she let her head hang slightly low. She lowered the hood of her robe and let the light touch her orange hair, giving it the appearence that it was aflame. She looked up into the main light of the Twilight Realm and closed her eyes, letting her memories wash over her. Not all that long ago, she was at this very place, she was an imp hiding in the Hero Link's shadow, while he fought to destroy the Usruper King Zant, and restore her to her proper position of power whilst saving his home, Hyrule from the evil lord Ganondorf, and aid Princess Zelda of the Land of Light. She ran a hand across the balcony as far as her arm would extend. She missed Link, Princess Zelda, and even the Land of Light. She knew Shattering the Mirror of Twilight was the only thing she could do to assure that an evil never crossed both lands like that again. However, she wished that she could somehow see them again.
Turning around, she took a step towards the center of the balcony, but her actions were stopped by a wrench in the center of her body. It stopped her short, and her eyes widened. The feeling spread through her entire body in pulses, like it was radiating from her core. She had never felt anything like it before. What...what is this?! she thought in slight alarm. She extended a hand, and opened her mouth to call out to her one of her advisors, who were talking among themselves. However, she froze in mid-step, her hand still extended. Her body was being broken down into twilight particles. How is my own power being used without my activation?! Midna thought, now fully alarmed. Before she could do anything else, her entire body became Twilight Particles, and a flash of light met her gaze.
It was as though she was above a land, looking down. It was full of normal light, but everything looked different. There were many strange buildings, and a rather square one that looked as though a door was opening to the outside. This wasnt Links world. Where is this place? she wondered. However, her question wasnt answered, only responded to with a Twilight Portal forming in the sky, a few meters infront of the building with the opening doors, and her body of Twilight Particles breaking down again, and forming with her feet floating a bit above the ground. They formed as though a rush of air had came up from beneath her, and slightly made her robe flare out. Once her body fully formed, she dropped to the ground. She heard the breath escape her mouth as she let her knees buckle. She dropped somewhat gracefully to the ground and placed her hands before her while she slightly crossed her legs to the side.
She let out a small groan and placed a hand to her head. Normally, she would be unable to tolerate this sort of light, but luckily the power Princess Zelda bestowed on her some time ago that allowed her to tolerate direct light was still intact. "Where...am I...?" she murmured mostly to herself, but loud enough for anyone within a few meters to hear.

‘Where...am I...?’ What, a voice? There hadn’t been a soul in sight moments ago … but wait. Maybe, just maybe, they were in the same situation as he was! Following the sound of their voice, he made his way towards them with ease. When they came into sight, he was mildly surprised. It was a woman, but that wasn’t what got him. She was … well, not exactly normally coloured. Though at the moment her back was to him, and he had no way of alerting her to his presence. He could only hope she would find out, and not freak out. He made a rather odd sound, possibly an attempt to clear his throat. One thing was for sure, he had never really ‘greeted’ any one before. He had no need too. Just a simple salute would do, and even that was rarely required as he was fairly high up in the ranks.
So instead of trying to greet her he just stood there, his blank face remaining expressionless, red eyes hardly moving under silver bangs. Part of him knew he shouldn’t be so open around her, but he also knew that unless she had a secret silver weapon hidden, he was perfectly safe. Either way he wasn’t exactly unprotected himself. He had his two modified Mauser C96s, and not to mention abilities that were rivalled only by that of a vampire.
But then again, maybe this woman was some sort of weird vampire? He really had no way of knowing. Then again to the rest of the world he appeared just an average human, well maybe not so average due to the Totenkopf upon his cap. Millennium had claimed him, their immortal weapon, a trump card so to speak. And just to top of the irony, he had been placed in the Werwolf division.
He was hoping that this new person would know something about what was happening. He needed to get back, or at least his orders made it pertinent he got back. To be dumped in a school after being in the middle of a war zone wasn’t exactly natural. Nor convenient. They had a goal that had to be met, a war to win. [/center] ∞»--- ‘Just as I thought.’ The wires pulled tight around his fingers, blood trickling along them where it managed to cut into his skin. ‘I thought it was you.’ Lifting one finger he switched his grasp on them before closing it tight again. ‘You’re exactly right, boy!’ The echoing voice, the Major. ‘I haven’t seen you in such a long time! As I recall, it’s been nearly 55 years.’ The old butler seemed to tense up slightly, but still the wires were held tight, so he couldn't try anything. ‘Why are you always, always showing up and interrupting our "meal"?’ While they were here, the vampire army of Millennium were feasting on the residents of London. And soon they would be advancing on Integra Hellsing as well, now that they had her only remaining protection here. ∞»--- This was their war, and they couldn’t let even the smallest thing go wrong. The lose of the Captain was slightly larger than a small thing. But it’s not like he asked for this, he never asked for anything. He either received it, or took it. This was more, thrust upon him. If he could thrust it back, that would be great. But he was pretty sure it didn’t work that way. What a pain. Why couldn’t everything be as easy as that? Because nothing was easy.

Midna opened her eyes a crack while still massaging her forehead. She could feel the light beaming down on her body, making her slightly uncomfortable. She shifted a slight bit as she pulled her legs and feet more under her. Dropping her hand to her lap, she sat for a moment and observed her surroundings. Everything was strange, foreign, nothing like what she'd ever seen. She shook her head in confusion. Where am I? What is this place? Why am I here? she couldnt help but wonder. Her brain swam in innumerable questions, all of which were left unanswered, hanging in the back of her mind so she could pull them out at any time. However, she was snapped out of her midst of self-interrogation when she heard something. It was a sound, as though someone had just stifled a cough. Sighing, Midna ducked her head and drew her feet and legs beneath her body completely, and pushed herself upward with her hands.
Drawing herself to her full height, she turned around slowly, raising her head as she did so, to carry her chin at a proud height that she normally did back in the Twilight Realm. She opened her eyes fully, letting the light slightly aggravate her eyes, her red pupils seeming abnormally dark against her yellow scleras because of the light. She held herself together to assure that she didnt wince to avoid the light, but her hand twitched as though she were going to shield her eyes, but they adjusted before she needed to do that. The source of the sound was located as soon as she had spun around, and her head tilted to the side a slight bit in a nonverbal question. Before her was someone who looked human, but had a large build and red eyes that were observing her.
Human, I think, like Link...but he looks nothing like what the people of Hyrule did... she told herself. Midna wasted only a second before she absent-mindedly drew a piece of her hair that had fallen out of place back over top of one of the spokes of her silver headdress. She let her hands fall to her sides after doing so, and regarded the figure before her. Stepping forward slowly, as though she were trying to practice the refined elegance that she carried when talking to her people, she stopped about three feet from the figure. She only hoped that listening to the language Princess Zelda and all others in Hyrule spoke would aid her here. "Excuse me..." she spoke softly "My name is Midna. I...appear to be lost. In truth, I was at my home, and I suddenly appeared here. You could not possibly tell me where I am, could you? she inquired, her deep red eyes looking at his.

He blinked slightly as she seemed to notice his sound, good. That was what he had hoped for. She was slightly taller than he had expected when standing full height. But then again to expect anything would be considered out of place. She seemed to hold a regal pose, royalty perhaps? But everything else he couldn’t recognize. Strange colors and patterns, oddly toned eyes, he wasn’t really sure what she was. But not even the apparent regal status fazed him. His mouth remained in a small frown, eyes blank, overall seeming more bored than confused.
She seemed so refined, quite the opposite to him. He was use to being a tool, not a being. He wasn’t entirely sure what to do, but she seemed to have an idea. She stepped a bit closer, it reminded him of a snake slipping across the ground, a fluid and flawless motion. ‘Excuse me…’ And now came the part where they would have trouble, a conversation. He waited, despite her faint voice he could make out every word clear as day. One of the pluses of having enhanced senses. ‘My name is Midna. I...appear to be lost. In truth, I was at my home, and I suddenly appeared here. You could not possibly tell me where I am, could you?’ Lost, so he was right. They were stuck in the same situations as he had assumed. He tilted his head to the side slightly, not sure what to do to convey his message. He bowed his head first in greeting, eyes shaded out by the brim of his hat. He met her gaze evenly, eyes unblinking. He was good at giving the attention one deserved, always looking the speaker or even his opponent direct on. But, not a word came out, not that they would even if they could. Another puff of air escaped, a sigh of annoyance that he couldn’t get out what he wanted too. Glancing to the side slightly he wondered if she still understood the custom of a handshake. Originally it was meant to show peace, as you held no weapon in your hand. Lifting his arm slightly he extended his hand, spreading his fingers apart slightly. It was a friendly gesture, but the blank face behind it made it seem unlikely he was ready to be friends.
He only wished that he had a better way to communicate. So far it was hoping that she could interpret his motions and actions. It was slightly frustrating. His lips were twitching slightly, pointed teeth grinding into a silent snarl. Though his silent anger was hidden by the upturned collar.
At least as far as he could tell, she would not come to harm him. And as far as he could tell, her teeth were not the jagged razors of the ghoulish fiends he had been surrounded with before. Even so the left hand at his side remained clenched. Uncertainty kept him on edge, ready for what ever tricks may be waiting.

Midna swallowed as she felt like she was being examined. There was no answer to her question given. A small stifled sound, perhaps, if her ears deceived her, but she did receive a head bow. He was, so far, a rather curious figure. He was dressed in a heavy attire...and a somewhat suspicious one at that. He wore a coat of sorts with a high collar that could hide his mouth if he tilted his head at the correct angle. He also wore a hat with a wide-ish brim that could cover his eyes. If he wanted, he could probably mask his entire expression from prying eyes of someone he was facing. She continued to sweep her red gaze about him until he brought her attention back to his face.
Her ears caught another sound, it was like a sigh, perhaps. If there was one thing she'd noticed, it was that he had made mainly motions and noises. She didnt draw any conclusions before she was supposed to, though. However, she was starting to collect a little intel on this person. He hadnt leapt at her, so Midna was guessing that he was not an immediate threat. She was hoping he would remain non-threatening. She did not know if her powers would work in this world, and she didnt want to have to be forced to try anything yet. However, if she needed a last resort, there was the power of her ancestors in the Fused Shadows she had with her, waiting to be activated. An action dragged her attention away from her thoughts, and she focused on it. His hand was moved forward, covering half the space between them.
His fingers were slightly extended as his hand hung in midair. It was a customary greeting....the Twili occasionally used it, for it was something that was used Generations ago before her people were banished to the Twilight Realm. She had also seen it used in Link's world by anyone, save for the Gorons and Zoras. She slowly extended her hand and grasped his gently, her white fingers wrapping around his palm so that the blue Twili markings seemed illuminated in the sunlight they were facing against her black arms. She moved her hand up and down gently, not taking her eyes off of him.
She figured she must look very strange compared to him..two-toned skin, strange blue markings patterning her arms and leg, different clothes. However, she didnt let that phase her. If anything, she could defend herself by bringing the fair and unarguable point that she was in a strange world. She was foreign here, and she didnt have any means of getting back. However, her eyes drifted to his side, where she noticed his other hand was in a tight fist. She sighed slightly and glanced to the side before she let her hand drop from his. "I am not going to attack you or hurt you unless you do so to me first. I prefer to stay out of fights if I can help it, and right now I am more concerned about figuring out where I am...and seeing if I can find a way back to my world. If you are lost as well, I might be able to help you..."
Midna felt compelled to offer him some assistance. He had not said anything, or done much when she had asked where they were, so it was a possibility he was lost like she was. She bit her lip a little, revealing the single fang she had, that had been her most prominent facial feature as a cursed imp. She backed up a little and turned ninety degrees clockwise before she stuck her left hand out, palm facing the ground, and she felt the familiar pulse of energy as she called upon the magic within her to create a warp portal. She felt her jaw slacken somewhat in amazement as it worked. However, she re-gained her composure as she recalled that he was still there...for a split second she had forgotten. "...that is a warp portal." she explained. "Normally, it is supposed to act as a direct transfer to wherever you want to go...for me, it would be home. But I...do not know if it would work here..." Truly, she felt a bit odd trying to explain this to someone who may have never even seen magic before, and if her magic failed her with this, she would be left rather uncertain if her other powers worked as well. She assumed they would, considering it was a different concept of magic than creating a warp portal. However, she glanced at him, to make sure he was not just acting as though he thought she would attack him, and attack her while she was unaware.

His eyes drifted down slightly as she took his hand, closing his own fingers slightly. He kept a firm grip, but made sure not to crush her hand. He knew his strength was greater than most, and unlike some unnatural beings he knew when to take advantage of that. Now more than ever he noticed the strange patterns on what he could only assume to be her skin. But his interest took backseat to his goals. As she let go he returned the gloved hand to his side, having no real reason to stuff them into his pockets like many did when they had no place for their hands. ‘I am not going to attack you or hurt you unless you do so to me first. I prefer to stay out of fights if I can help it, and right now I am more concerned about figuring out where I am...and seeing if I can find a way back to my world. If you are lost as well, I might be able to help you...’ Help, at that simple word his eyes grew wider every so slightly. She was going to help him? The idea was so strange to him, he was use to being followed due to orders, but never helped out of kindness. Due too his position, any sort of kindness was considered weakness. You would likely get shot or eaten. It obviously wasn’t a common practice for every one else.
He watched as she tugged at her lip, a single tooth poking out. Not exactly fearsome… but his attention was drawn to her actions. After a spin one of her pale palms stretched out above the ground. What was she doing?! He felt one foot slide behind the other, knees bending slightly. Lips pulling back into a hidden snarl. But wait … even when she was done it didn’t seem to do anything. Straightening up again he tilted his head slightly to the side. ‘ ...that is a warp portal.’ He looked at it and blinked slightly. Portal … could this be what was responsible for him being here? ‘ Normally, it is supposed to act as a direct transfer to wherever you want to go...for me, it would be home. But I...do not know if it would work here...’ He nodded slightly looking at it, so, why not just jump on through? Worth a shot right? Beh, either way he wasn’t jumping into that weird thing. Folding his arms together his hands grasped the opposing arm. His eyes traveled from the portal thing to her, what was she going to do now? Jump in? Make him jump in? Yeah that wasn’t going to happen.

Midna had seen his reaction after she had spoken after the hand shake. His eyes had widened slightly, but she hadnt given any indication she'd seen it. Though she had continued on to summon the start of a warp portal, she didnt even hear him speak. He really is the strong silent type, I guess, because I think its a bit more than a suspicious silence... she thought. Truthfully, he sort of reminded her of Link. In their journeys together, Link had spoken perhaps twenty words...most. She found, though, that the silent types were incredibly intelligent and often strong...in more than one way. Smiling slightly, she glanced at him, and back at the ground.
When her red eyes fell upon the brick tiling, they narrowed in frustration. The warp portal was taking longer than normal to charge up and become its fully-powerful state. She was met with a conflict for the time being. He had crouched next to it and seemed to glare at it expectantly. Seconds later, he simply stood up and tilted his head as though confused. She wanted to try again to make it, but she knew that if she put two warp portals atop each other, it was possible that the unfortunate person that stepped on it would risk...at great possibility...of being caught in inter-dimensional space between wherever they were traveling from, and where they were trying to go. She stayed silent after she explained, while she waited and hoped it would flare up. He must think I'm crazy... she thought in slight exasperation. The last thing she needed was someone who could appear to be some sort of help or ally in this foreign land to think she was not all together in the head.
Then, when she was about to explain what was supposed to happen, it appeared. Blackness spread out about three feet across widthwise and lengthwise, cutting diagonal edges as though to make a diamond. In the center formed a swirling mass of blue-green lining that made the portal appear to funnel into the ground...or rather, into never-ending blackness. However, blue-green squares, lines, rectangles and parallel lines appeared between the circle and the edges of the ragged black diamond. They pulsed with brightness, slowly dimming and then re-brightening every ten or so seconds. Midna felt herself relax, probably visibly as she felt a rush of air quietly escape her. Was I holding my breath? she wondered. Apparently so, for she felt as though she were deflating some anxiety. Apparently, her subconcious had come to the conclusion that her magic may not work in this world. She smiled somewhat but let her face drop to a more studious expression before she turned her head to face him.
He had folded his arms and laid his hands atop the arm it was crossing over. He was looking at her, and she guessed from the portal on the ground...which, last she knew, he had not seen because it had not appeared due to lack of power in it. She looked at him for a good thirty seconds before she blinked. She hadnt expected him to make a run for the portal. Based on how he'd been acting, she didnt expect him to move at all. Stepping forward silently, she stood atop the portal and turned slowly to face him again. About three seconds passed, and then she felt as though she were being lifted up off the ground. She knew this sensation. Her feet were about six inches above the ground at this point, and she pulled her arms just inches from her sides, with her hands slightly splayed so she could concentrate. Now for the destination.
Twilight Realm!
Instantly, her body broke down into black and blue-green twilight particles, and light was slowly beginning to radiate from the ground. She gave him a final look before her head was broken into the twilight particles, and they were sucked into the blackness of the portal, which closed behind her entrance and vanished from sight. Everything flashed before her, other worlds, Link's world, empty space, and the Twilight Realm. Stop! Midna yelled in her head. However, she had already passed it on the real of inter-dimensional travel. Her magic wasnt working in that other world, she was being rebounded.
About ten seconds later, another warp portal appeared, and Midna felt as though serious deja vu was setting in. She was above, looking down. The man was still there, but she couldnt tell his expression. About six feet from the front of him, an identical portal appeared in the sky. It made the familiar noise that it did whenever a destination was reached (or in this case, when it couldnt reach its destination) and formed in mid-air. The twilight particles that made up her body shot through the portal and quickly re-formed her like it had when she was first dropped here. From her feet up, the portal existed so long as she was still Twilight Particles. As soon as the crown of her head was put back together, another sound from the portal above her head indicated it vanishing.
She remained hovering in the air for a split second before she dropped back to the ground, her feet making a dull thud against the bricks. She was already facing him, so she slowly trudged to where she was standing before, about two-arms length in front of him. She looked at him and murmured "...the warp portal obviously did not work. I am not sure if it is something about this...place...that is preventing my warp magic from working correctly, but I do not know if any of my other magic will work, either. It's a bit of a gamble, actually. If I'm going to find a way back to my home...and help you, I'll need to try everything eventually..." She glanced to the side before finishing.
"But if nothing else works...I suppose we will just have to search for a way...".
She did not like admitting she didnt know what to do, or that her magic wasnt working correctly, but it was the most honest thing she could do now.

Magic, portals, it was all new too the silver haired giant. His construction of a mind knew ghouls, it knew vampires, and it knew itself. It didn’t really need to know much else, it was after all only filled with the thoughts they wanted it to have. Though his face didn’t show it, he was finding this enjoyable, gathering knowledge and building information up. Sure it wasn’t supposed to be happening, but it was a bump in the road.
But he backed up slightly as the ground began to … move for lack of a better word. First black swallowed the earth beneath her feet, then colors. It was beyond anything he had seen, though it reminded him slightly of the chips they implanted into the ‘vampires’. But then it was the only thing he could hope to compare it too. But this Midna seemed to be glad it was there, even walking onto it. She began to hover above it, forcing a bit of air to escape his nostrils in surprise. But that wasn’t nearly as shocking as what happened next.
Her entire body began to break apart, seemingly just as if she was nothing more than a swarm of bugs. He caught her eyes before she was completely broken apart, perhaps a silent good bye? That is if whatever she was doing worked… The darkness seemed to suck her in, and it snapped shut faster than he could even process what happened. So … she was gone? Releasing his arms he looked at where she had been standing only moments before. Now he wondered idly if it had worked. Was he truly alone now? Why should it matter, he was always alone. He was just a pawn, not even a memory connecting him to what he had before.
He considered leaving, but then another black portal appeared, this time in the sky. A faint snort escaped as he stared at it. Was it some one else? Or had she come back? Sure enough the weird specks that she had turned into came out of it. And as he expected, the particles bound together to reform the oddly coloured female. He took a step forward, glancing towards her and the portal behind her. Or perhaps above would have been more accurate. Seemingly done with its duty the portal vanished and she fell to the ground. At least she didn’t collide with it like he had, that was quite the unpleasant reality check. ‘...the warp portal obviously did not work. I am not sure if it is something about this...place...that is preventing my warp magic from working correctly, but I do not know if any of my other magic will work, either. It's a bit of a gamble, actually.’ So she hadn’t come back … she had never really left. He nodded slightly, understanding that one could never count on anything you couldn’t see. At least that was his train of thoughts. He didn’t have to worry about anything like that, no matter where he was nothing could take away what he truly was. ‘If I'm going to find a way back to my home...and help you, I'll need to try everything eventually...’ Another small nod, but he still couldn’t comprehend her desire to help him. Clearly wherever she came from, the totemkopf upon his olive cap was nothing more than it appeared. ‘But if nothing else works...I suppose we will just have to search for a way...’ Another nod, this time closing his eyes slightly. Opening them put his hand flat out raising it so his finger tips were level with the top of his hat. It was a salute, a silent way of saying he was there. Willing to return the help when possible. Snapping his hand down from the salute he returned it to his side, a slight bow of his head following. With no orders to follow this was his show to run, and he could make his own decisions. It was new, and strange, but he was getting the hang of it.

As she had spoken, her…ally of sorts had been nodding with each pause she took between phrases or sentences. She assumed the nod ment that he comprehended what she was saying and understood that at the moment, she was unsure of what to do, but she would keep looking. No, they would keep looking for a way back to their original homes. Looking at her ally, she realized he had shifted his position. He had raised his hand to brow-level and was giving her an intent stare as he kept his hand poised next to his cap and brow, but upon lowering his hand, he gave a bow of his head. He still had not said anything up to this point. Maybe he is unable to speak? she wondered. That was not the sort of question to ask shortly after meeting someone, so she acknowledged the gesture and bow of his head with a small bow of her own head and voicing her thoughts.
“Thank you. If we are going to find a way to our homes, we may as well start searching now.”
Despite saying that, Midna was unsure of what to do at the moment. She was still trying to figure out why she was brought to this world, and she tried not to think about what was happening at her palace in the Twilight Realm. Her loyal subjects and the rest of the Twili must be in a state of panic right now. This was not the first time she suddenly vanished. The first was when Zant came to power and transformed her into the Imp she was in Link’s quest to return his home to normal. However, that was over and done, Link had killed the Dark Lord Ganondorf, and she had killed the Usruper King Zant using only a fraction of the power of her ancestors. There was no other dark, demonic threat that lingered in the shadow of the parallel of Hyrule and the Twilight Realm anymore. If there had been, she would know about it.
Shaking her head a little and bringing her eyes to face her ally. She realized she had been drifting off into ther thoughts, and her face had slowly contorted into a hard look that was intent and perhaps a bit qizzical. She gave herself a small shake and forced her features to relax. ”Sorry about that…” she said with a hint of a laugh in her voice. ”I was just thinking…and I think I have an idea of where to start our search for a solution.” With that, she let her voice trail off and brought her gazze to the building out of which her ally seemed to have come. This was a building…not just any building. It wasn’t a building that was used for living quarters, and if it wasn’t that sort of building, it was bound to have at least some sort of information about the place they had unwittingly ended up in.
She took a couple of steps forward and one to the side, so that she was parallel to her new ally, and she turned her head to the right to look at him. She may as well tell him what had gone through her mind as he thought process on how to start the search to get back to their homes. ”I thought maybe investigating any resources this building may hold could at least give us a clue as to where we are, what this place is called, where exactly it is located, etcetera…” she gave a small shrug, followed by a bit of a smile ”It’s a start at best.”

‘Thank you. If we are going to find a way to our homes, we may as well start searching now.’ But where to start? Everything was so violently different he wasn’t sure anything would help now. The blaring sirens and roaring fires, all gone. Ghouls and bodies lining the street, the scent of rotting flesh everywhere, that’s what he should be surrounded in. She began to drift off, as if deep in thought. His head titled, leaving her to ponder. He would let any thoughts clear out. Like fog in the street, she would be able to make her away easier with out them constantly lingering. Not that he would know, he had nothing even trickling through. Any stray thought was hardly worth lingering on. ‘Sorry about that…’ A faint puff escaped his nostrils, she seemed to be amused, or something similar. ‘I was just thinking…and I think I have an idea of where to start our search for a solution.’ Perking up a bit he blinked and wished she would pick up where she had left off. What was this idea? She glanced to the building, his own eyes following, what was in there? Wait … it was a school, or so it had appeared when he had been rudely thrown in. Maybe she was on too something. ‘I thought maybe investigating any resources this building may hold could at least give us a clue as to where we are, what this place is called, where exactly it is located, etcetera…’ Nodding he straightened up slightly, after standing there for a long time his knees had begun to slacken. ‘It’s a start at best.’ And she smiled, huh, he had seen that expression so many times, but still didn’t quite understand it. But he nodded, understanding what she wanted to get at. Turning fully towards the school he glanced back towards her, flicking his head slightly towards the massive structure. Turning his head back he walked towards it, with an almost robotic gate. Each step the exact length as the last, rhythmic marching seeming almost rehearsed. Like a the mindless soldier he was he made his way to the building, not even glancing over his shoulder. If she came, she came. If not, then she was stupid for suggesting it.
Putting a hand on the door he glanced back, blinking slowly. Flicking his head again, urging her to hurry up. His huffed slightly as the barrel of the hidden Mauser smacked against the door, palm flattening against the door to silence it. He didn’t want her to know he had two fully loaded guns, he had no intention of using them on her anyways. Sure she seemed strong, but not strong enough. He felt no threat, and no need to even show his more ‘dangerous’ side.
Now was the time for reason, and level headedness. Two things he could quite easily grasp.

As she had spoke, she had taken in his actions. He had nodded with what she said, as though in agreement. She had cleared her head of thoughts, and there was nothing remaining like a Twilight Mist in her path. If she was going to work with this human to find their ways back to their homes, she needed to be completely focused. She gave herself a small mental shake as she reminded herself that this was serious. She didnt know where she was, he appeared to be reluctant to communicate, or incapable of such, and she had no way of just warping back home. With that aspect of her powers disabled, she was still at a loss of which of her powers would actually work. She blinked and let a somewhat steely look enter her red gaze.
This was obviously the most important issue at hand, and if she was going to complete it successfully with her ally, she would need every ounce of the focus she could muster at the current situation. He gave the slightest flick of his head in the direction of the building. He barely waited even a few seconds for her response before he turned and walked towards the building. His gait was a stern one. It seemed measured, timed, and practiced over and over until it was down to such a raw brunt in his mind that it was almost second nature. She mentally placed this at the back of her thoughts. Aside from figuring out where they were, and helping the both of them, she was trying to collect intel on him so she could understand him more.
Following more lightly, her cloak flowed behind her as she moved. She was walking quickly, two of her steps about equal to the length of one of his. She relaxed her face so a less stern expression was drawn upon it, but her eyes were still unblinking and set. When it came to something like this, she had a similar demeanor to someone with tunnel vision. She wouldnt give up unless she achieved at least one answer, hopefully more. But then again, in this strange land, who knew what she would find? She glanced up at his back to find him facing her again. He flicked his head yet again, and she moved up in the speed of which she walked. He clearly was urging her on, even though he was waiting.
A small sound met her ears before his hand placed upon the door. It was muffled, and soon silenced because of his hand. She didnt have a clue as to what it was, so she brushed it off. However, she placed any thoughts on it in the same place as the information she was gathering about him. It wasnt important. He seemed trustworthy. If she seemed suspicious at all, it would probably set both of them at unease and make coperation much more difficult. She currently trusted him though, and she had no uneasy feelings about him. Things, provided they flowed smoothly, they could work together.
She approached the door and soon stood next to him. She placed a hand on the handle before her and pulled it open. It scraped against the ground as it stuck fast, allowing him a door to walk through as well. The only light coming into the facility was that from the outside, and there were some stray peices of paper everywhere. She walked forward, taking her turn to glance over her shoulder in his direction. She looked through some of the windows on the doors, trying to see which rooms seemed to contain the most promising source of information. Stopping as she passed a particular door, she shifted closer to peer through its window. Inside were tables with high-piled books.
If anything, this is most promising thus far... she thought.
Her hand reached for the handle once again and she cast another glance over her shoulder. After jiggling the handle a few times, she found the door appeared to be locked. Biting her lip in slight frustration, she felt her canine dig into her lower lip. There was no time like the present, in her mind, to find out the extent of her powers in this world. She let go of the handle and left her hand at her side. She took a few seconds to focus her energy into her hand. She wasnt even paying attention to how close he was, or if he was even approaching. Moving her hand to the metal door again, she placed it, palm flat against it.
Upon contact, a wave of energy left her hand and flowed out like black and gold flames against the door for a brief few seconds until it had spread and vanished into the air. However, a crunching sound met her ears and her hand was shifted as the door bent horizontally through the middle, out of its frame at the head and foot, and jarring the handle out slightly. She restrained a pleased smirk. She hadnt focused nearly as much energy as she would have previously tried to focus. This world allowed her to use her powers...at least creating waves of energy...at less of a cost than it had in Link's world or the Twilight Realm.
Without taking her eyes off the door or moving her hand, she softly spoke. "It appears things may have gotten just a bit easier...." If she could use her powers at less of a cost than other places, she would be able to find answers quicker. But still, she hadnt tried even a fraction of their full extent.
That was left to be tested.

Standing at the door, he let a faint puff escape his nostrils. She had heard the sound. But she seemed to pay it no heed. That was good, meaning she had no intention of analyzing his fighting abilities. Which in turn meant, he wouldn’t have to fight. He didn’t want to fight her, there was no reason too. No orders, no gain, just a stupid fight. He wasn’t a monster, well, he didn’t act like one.
She pulled the door open, far enough back that he simply had to walk through. He couldn’t imagine why the doors were unlocked, perhaps the cleaning staff hadn’t locked up properly. He left the door ajar, to allow a tiny bit more light to filter through. Glancing down the hallway he could pick out the room he had come from, the door wide open from his rather brutal exit.
Oddly next thing he noticed was that it smelt like lemons. Why he had noticed that, he wasn’t entirely sure. It was likely some cleaning product, but it was somewhat calming. It was a pleasant change from the sour stench of blood. While that scent just fueled his hunger, this one seemed to quench it. As his heavy boots echoed once more he tried to shift his focus, he ended up just watching where his newly found traveling partner was going.
She seemed to stop near a room, perhaps she had seen something useful. But as she reached for the handle, it did not budge. Locked. Not surprising in the least. But quite a bother. He would have just kicked it down, but she seemed to have it under control. Staying a fair distance back, more since he didn’t want to be a bother, he watched as a strange flow erupted from her hand. It seemed as if nothing happened at first, until the door crunched and warped itself. ‘It appears things may have gotten just a bit easier....’ He huffed a bit. If it was about opening doors, he could just break them down. But whatever worked. Somehow he doubted that was what she had meant anyways. She hadn’t even looked at him throughout the process. Taking his chance he peered into the room. Books, lots of them. Oh fun. He never looked at reading as a pleasant pastime, this wouldn’t be any better. But they could come in handy. Books held information, and they needed some of that right now. He stood behind her, still leaving some distance, wondering what she would do with the warped door. He would just hurl it out of the way, but she was between him and it. And he wasn’t about to toss her out of the way either. He was content with waiting for now. At least until he decided they couldn’t wait any more.
