Here you will find the various side plots that are in action at the time. At any one time there are usually many running, this is to give everyone something to do, to keep everyone busy. Yet at the same time prevent parts of the plot getting held up if another part is held up. Each side plot will have its own post.

Seen as an imbalance to the natural soul cycle these new individuals are unwelcomed by many a soul reaper, many trying to eliminate them whilst the research and development bureau tries to discover a way to send back these new individuals.
This has left many of the individuals being hunted like nothing more than dogs, especially those who blatantly don't fit in with society. Cautioned against these people terrible rumours about the lost souls have come to light, these only furthering the fear that many people have for them. This has lead to very much treating them as something close to hollows an terrorists.
Alas this has lead to many hard feelings between the two groups, causing anger for both, only furthering the reasons for conflicts between them. This is now leading to group attacks on either parties, the new comers forming alliances with others, whilst the reapers work together as they always have... This wide show of spiritual pressure is having serious consequences though.

With the strange and new spiritual pressures coming to light hollows are becoming ever more of a threat, coming up to try and claim a tasty snack. The problem with this though is that by doing so the hollows are running the risks of coming into contact with the anomalies, something that's now leading to new, stronger, hollows.
These beasts, unlike the arrancar, seem to be able to skip stages of their progression via this new power granted by the hogyoku. Many of them retain their basic beastly forms, looking no different, even going so far as to feel no different... Yet their power is something shocking. They gain augmented powers, yet this is not the worst. Instead of gaining rationality thy lose the very little grip they had to begin with, turning them into raging monsters .
These new hollows are utterly deadly, instead of picking souls that are unique, that are strong, they will simply attack anything that comes before them, not even holding the same intent to consume as they once did... Instead now they seek to destroy, and that they are more than capable of doing.
Something though is manipulating them, some unknown force is pulling in these beasts, controlling them, focusing their terrible powers onto one thing. Locking them into hunting anything with the greatest spiritual pressures. Whether these pressures belong to soul reapers or lost spirits the hollows show little regard, hunting them all alike... And yet oddly not all are killed... Some simply... Vanish.
They vanish to nothing.

The soul reapers do not just seek to destroy the lost souls, some, one squad in particular, seek them for another reason. Experimentation.
Squad twelve with their crazed captain is far more interested in the science behind these new creatures, seeking to round up samples from every species to conduct experiments upon them. Alas the main problem with this is very simply that you never survive such experimentation when it comes from this man, and yet no one knows. Well aware that this would be illegal by law, Mayuri is unperturbed, doing as he pleases behind the law, keeping what he does out of the light, out of the general knowledge of everyone.
The problem with trying to contain such powerful beings though... Is that it really doesn't always work, along the lines this is of course bound to cause hell for the captain. Yet in the meantime he's content.

After his failure Aizen went into seclusion, everyone thinking the man to be dead, to have faded away into nothing but a memory. If only that were true. He's very much alive, biding his time, plotting, waiting for the ideal opportunity to once more lash out, to once more seek domination over the ones who defeated him.
Without the hogyoku he's been forced to take a different route, trying to harness the anomalies, yet more than just that. A master of manipulation he's convincing the strange newcomers to join him, pushing them into believing that the soul reapers are evil. With the treatment they receive this is not so hard for them to believe. Some of them perhaps don't even care, simply wanting revenge on the shinigami for their actions.
The truth is though they're tools, nothing more than accessories to the reaper, nothing more than a way to a means for him to bide his time for when he's able to truly master the anomalies. Sooner or later he's going to drop them, and in the end someone will suffer for it.

With the hollows' changes comes the problem of all else. Those with demonic blood, vile dispositions, or even heavy anguish, are liable to fall into occasional feral tendencies, showing truer colors than previously. Any with a heavy darkness within them have the possibility to fall to this.
Oddly though not all are affected by it, some come out of it totally unaffected, the hogyoku apparently having little effect on them, these individuals go on as any other. Those who are affected are also not swayed all of the time, when at peace they very much maintain their usual disposition, though during times of heightened emotions, or perhaps even totally out of the blue, the issue will come forth. When in this state rationality is rare, whilst mercy is even rarer. They keep intelligence, yet at the same time the shadows in them consume them, pushing them along a darker path for a time until the episode subsides.
In the end there's no way to predict these fits, they're random, spontaneous... Yet feared. With them comes the possibility that the individual may harm those they do not mean to, and so they live with the torment of not knowing.
Of never knowing.
